Graduation requirement: 1 unit of PE or NJROTC Health Education grades 11-12 1 unit Emphasis is focused on the systems of the body, diseases, behavior, drugs and medicine and maintaining good health. Physical health, mental health and social health are also areas of emphasis. PE 1 grades 9-12 1 unit This course includes a semester of Personal Fitness to fulfill the SCPEAP physical education requirement. Two physical activities will be offered in nine-week increments. The activities that will be offered are basketball and track and field; volleyball and aerobics; recreational activities and badminton. PE 2 grades 10-12 ½ unit Fall semester Prerequisite: PE1 This course is designed to promote physical and psychological development through the fundamentals of weight training, cardiovascular and respiratory fitness and improving flexibility. This course is open to the general population. PE 3 grades 10-12 ½ unit Spring semester Prerequisite: PE 1 and must play a fall season sport at Aiken High during the current school year. This course is designed to promote physical and psychological development through the fundamentals of weight training, cardiovascular and respiratory fitness and improving flexibility. This course is only open to fall season athletes during the current school year. PE 4 grades 11-12 1 unit Prerequisite: PE 1 and PE 3 and must play a sport at Aiken High during the current school year. This course is designed to promote physical and psychological development through the fundamentals of weight training, cardiovascular and respiratory fitness and improving flexibility. This course is only open to any athlete during the current school year. |
