Moodle: How to Embed an Image

Need free images?
 Look here.

You already know from previous tutorials how to upload files to your course and how to make a web page with formatted text and links. You are now ready to learn how to add an image to a web page (or to other resources, of course). Here's the way to do it:

1. Log in as always:

 2. Enter your course by clicking on the title-link:

 3. If necessary, turn editing on:

 4. Scroll to a web page that you have already created and click on the little hand icon (the editing icon):

 5. Click first in the editing area where you want to put an image that you have already uploaded to the files area of your site.  Then, click the insert image icon. It looks like a picture in a frame.

 6. A dialog box pops up:

1. Click the link to the image you want to embed in your web page (red arrow).
2. The location of the file appears in the Image URL field (blue arrow) and a preview of the image appers in the right-hand pane (green arrow).
3. Enter a brief desciption of the image in the Alternate text field (yellow arrow).

 7. Click on the OK button to inert the image.

8. Your image is now embedded in your web page. (But you are not yet finished.)

9. Scroll down to the bottom of the form and click the Save changes button.

10. Your image is now embedded in your web page. Nice!
