Moodle: Create a Forum

Forums can be powerful teaching tools, and Moodle makes it easy to create them. Here's all you have to do:


1. Log in as usual.

2. Enter your course.

3. If necessary, turn on editing.

4. From the activity menu (red arrow), choose Forum (green arrow).

5. Give your forum a name (red arrow) and an introduction (blue arrow).

6. For the rest of the form, simply accept the default values. Scroll down and click the Save changes button.

7. Your forum is ready. You will probably want to create a new discussion topic. Click on the Add a new discussion topic button to get started.

8. Give your new discussion a subject (red arrow) and a message (green arrow). The scroll down and click on the Post to forum button (blue arrow).

 9. Your forum is ready for business. :-)
