Moodle Course Settings

Your system admin has created an empty course for you. Now you want to customize the global settings of that course to suit your needs. Read about this at http://docs.moodle.org/en/Course_settings.

Here's how to do that: 

First, browse to the front page of your site and log in as always.

Log in
After you have logged in, find the course you want to edit. Click on the link that is the  name of the course. enter course
Now that you are logged in and have entered the course in which you are a teacher, click on the Settings link in the admin menu. click on settings link
  1. Name your course (red arrow).
  2. Give your course a short name (bright green arrow).
  3. Briefly describe your course (blue arrow).

  1. Choose a format for your course (red arrow).
  2. Select the number of week-sections or topics-sections you want (green arrow).
  3. Decide how you want to deal with hidden sections (orange arrow).
  4. Choose how many news items you want to display (black arrow).
  5. Indicate if you wish to display grades or not (yellow arrow).
  6. Indicate if you wish to display activity reports or not (purple arrow).
  7. Choose the maximum size of files you wish to allow students to upload to the course (pink arrow).
  8. Indicate if you wish this course to be a meta course (blue arrow).
  9. Choose the default role for your course (bright green arrow).

For now, simply accept the default settings in the Enrollments section of the form. Just leave them as you see them in this image. -->

By the way, enrolment is the Australian spelling of the word.

For now, accept the defaults values in the sections for enrollment expiration and groups.  exiration and group settings
  1. Make the course available to students (red arrow).
  2. Add a one-word enrollment key (bright green arrow).
  3. Allow gusts who know the enrollment key to enter the course (blue arrow).
  4. Do not charge any fee to  enter the course.

  1. Do not force a language (red arrow).
  2. Click the Save changes button to submit the form (green arrow).

That's all there is to it. You may now begin adding resources and activities to your newly-customized online course.
